The girls were a credit to the school, representing Plymouth High brilliantly and were a pleasure to spend the day with. The unnofficial results were as follows:

Junior - Medley Relay 5th out of 42, Freestyle Relay 4th out of 42 teams

Intermediate A - Medley Relay 3rd out of 27 teams, Freestyle Relay 3rd out of 30 teams

Intermediate B - Medley Relay 13th out of 27, Freestyle Relay 12th out of 30 teams

Senior - Medley Relay 7th out of 19, Freestyle Relay 7th out of 21 teams

If the above results prove correct, PHSG may well be represented at the National Finals in Coventry in February by at least 2 teams! Official results to follow, along with confirmation that we have again made it to the finals.

Well done girls!

Climbing Course

20th October 09

PHSG students have the opportunity to take part in a Sport Unlimited climbing course in November at Lipson School. During the course girls will learn basic climbing skills using the indoor wall at Lipson and will finish the course with a day at The Barn in Tavstock using their super indoor wall. There will be follow up sessions outdoors when the weather is better to build on the new skills learnt.

There are 12 places available so see Mrs Goolden if you're interested as soon as possible.

Bikeability Course for PHSG

29th September 09

On Monday 5th and Friday 9th October, 12 Year 7 students from PHSG will be participating in a Level 2 Bikeability course at Plymstock School. The girls from 7A, L and T will be learning how to safely perform manoeuvres at local road junctions, overtake parked vehicles and understand rules of the road and road signs.

The course is provided free of charge by the Plymstock SSP and will be run by two qualified instructors from 9 - 3pm both days. At the end of the course all of the girls who meet the required standard will receive a nationally recognised certificate.

If you are interested in running a course at your school, then please contact your PLT or SSCo who can arrange the details for you.

Good luck girls and have fun!

Looking for a venue...

14th September 09

We are struggling to find a venue for our next Girls Active Day which we would like to hold in the Autumn/Spring term. Ideally we need a school with lots of sports facilities that we would be able to access for the day (maybe on a non-pupil day for the rest of the school?). We are open to suggestions so please contact me by email on egoolden@phsg.org if you have a suggestion or any ideas. Many thanks.
