1st Prize to PHSG girls at Dance Festival Eurodisney
1st prize to PHSG girls at International Dance Festival
Megan Hapney, Georgia Hood and Rachel Farr all members of the Geraldine Lamb Dance School attended a dance festival in October at Eurodisney. They competed against dance schools from all over the world. The dance school successfully came 1st in two of the categories and 2nd in another which is a fantastic result - well done. Rachel Farr did extremely well coming 1st in the solo category out of 15 dancers. Congratulations to all 3 dancers and their achievements.
Bikeability @ PHSG
Bikeability level 2 - 10 successful students
We were blessed with bright sunny days as 10 PHSG students from year 7 completed their level 1 playground bike skills and level 2 on the road skills to complete their Bikeability award. Supported by the Department of Transport this initiative empowers young people to have the confidence and skills to ride their bikes on the road, as an alternative mode of transport. Well done to those girls who passed, your certificates are on the way and please let Mrs Lilley know if girl from year 7 is interested.
Using Girls Active Leaders in Schools

Over 100 girls where given training on 22 October to enable them to lead sports groups at school. The leaders will be able to effectively 'run' the clubs with supervision from either PE staff or other members of staff. At PHSG two of the girls Alice and Clare from Y12 have volunteered to run a lunchtime indoor rowing session following their training course.
With girls like these as role models it is hopeful that more students will feel able and come to clubs and have a go, as they are less likely to feel the need to 'perform' in front of teachers. This will impact the participation of students getting involved in extra-curricular activity, whilst giving the student leaders great experience which they can add to their portfolios.
Get Wet on the Water
What fantasic weather we've had for rowing on the water, at Mountbatten on a Monday evening. It's been so great I've had to wear my sunnies! In just six weeks students from across the partnership have learnt to row a 'virus' - that's a single scull boat to the uninitiated and to row as a team in a gig. What could be better than ending your day on the water watching the sun set. Who said work was hard......
